Some of my smaller works on paper have been framed in some of my favourite small affordable frames. These allow me to see what they will look like framed, allowing me to decide the types of framing I might go for with some of my work. Not all my work gets framed, however, I try to have around 20 pieces professionally framed for exhibitions where my work is shown.
It can be a tough decision when it comes to framing, as some customers like to frame the work themselves for their space, choosing the right frame for their decor. I try to keep framing simple and either white or black, unless there is a piece that needs something a little more unique. I have been working on spray painted framing to achieve the graffiti style effect that works well with some of my work. I hope to have a few of these completed for an upcoming exhibition in 2025 at the Creative Innovation Centre CIC.
I have included a few pieces framed in the small frames below to show how an image can pull together once sitting within a frame.
