In today's fast-paced world, our connection to nature and the landscape around us often gets overlooked. However, the concept of experiencing a journey within a landscape as a sense of place grounded within time is essential in understanding our relationship with the world around us. As we navigate through spaces, our mind constantly negotiates our perception of reality, shaping how we view and interact with the landscape we encounter.
The Role of Time in Landscape Perception
Time plays a crucial role in how we perceive and recall a landscape. As the movement of light shifts throughout the day, the representation of landscape changes, altering our perception of the space around us. Whether the glow of sunlight at dawn or the shadows cast at dusk, and the shifting colour due to changes in light, time has a profound impact on how we interpret and connect with the landscape we inhabit.

Connecting with Nature and Landscape
In our increasingly digital world, it is more important than ever to become connected to nature and the landscapes that surround us. By representing the movement of time in artwork, artists can create a sense of connection with viewers, allowing them to experience the beauty and tranquility of nature through the artist's eyes. This connection serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving and appreciating the natural world.

Art has the power to transcend the boundaries of realism and capture the essence of 'being' in space and time. By moving beyond a realist approach, artists can create works that reflect the experience of 'being nature,' fostering a deeper connection with reality and the world around us.
This shift in perspective allows viewers to immerse themselves in the artwork, experiencing a sense of wonder and awe at the beauty of the natural world through a more conceptual reality.
The Spiritual in Art
Art has long been a medium for exploring spiritual concepts and the interconnectedness of all things. By viewing life as matter within energy/spirit, artists can reveal deeper truths about the universe and our place within it. Creativity and artistic expression can help us transcend the physical world and tap into the spiritual dimensions of our existence, promoting a greater understanding of ourselves and the world around us, without the limitations placed upon us through outdated ideas about matter/ energy (spirit).

Art and creativity can enable us to reveal this reality and bring us closer to understanding ideas explored by Wassily Kandinsky[1] and Hilma af Klint[2] about the ‘Spiritual in Art’.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the landscape of the mind through time is a powerful concept that shapes our perception of the world and our place within it. By connecting with nature, moving beyond realism in art, and exploring the spiritual dimensions of artistic expression, we can deepen our understanding of the universe and our interconnectedness with all things.
Time serves as a crucial element in shaping our perception of what landscape can be, reminding us of the beauty and transience of the world around us. Embracing this concept can lead to a deeper appreciation of nature, art, and the spiritual dimensions of our existence.
