Here are a few images from a test workshop at the BTC in Taunton in association with CICCIC. This new partnership has enabled us to gain access to a range of equipment affording learners the opportunity to access larger machines and presses, creating some larger prints.
We began using the big etching press to formulate ideas and thoughts, exploring what each person might like to create: first through using the method of monoprint and monotype, then moving on to screen-printing with fluid and block. Then they moved onto drawing on drafting film, transferring onto a screen via exposure, enabling the work to transfer onto an A2 screen for the final two sessions to print large screen-printed images.
Overall, I am very pleased with the way it has all un-folded, enabling each of the artists to gain more experience and access A2 size prints. I hope this is something that will continue to expand over the coming year, developing into a full range of evening classes, affording accessibility and opportunity to create large prints at a community affordable price, enabling access for all and in-turn increasing their key skills in printmaking.
I wish to send out a big thank you to CICCIC, BTC, Richard, Matt and Vanessa for getting this off the ground. Here's to 2025! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!
