Thursday & Friday Print Workshops

Updated: Dec 13

The new terms for the Creative Innovation Centre's print workshops for 2025 are now available to book (January through to April). The Thursday sessions are split into two terms, with the first grounded in Japanese Vinyl Printmaking for Term One (Six Weeks/ 18 hours) and Term Two we will explore Japanese Ply Woodcut (Six Weeks/ 18 hours). These will be slightly larger sizes, due to the limit of methods, affording the budget to concentrate on larger print plates for the Vinyl/ Wood.

Landscape Reduction Print By Arabella, 2024

Concentrating on one method/ techniques of printing over a longer period of time, will enable you to take your time being able to construct and design your image in class, and work out your processes of making, through the reduction method, using the Ternes Burton method of registration. This will also enable me to show more techniques and share more with you as a group and individually, working together to come up with your designs and help you to contruct your images to get the best prints, creating an edition of prints.

Zeus | Japanese Vinyl Print | Adam Grose, 2013
Intervention | Japanese Vinyl Print | Cyprus, 2013 (Private Collector)

Creative Methodologies will explore how we form imagery through a variety of interventions and processes that will work hand-in-hand with your intuition. Through a series of tasks in drawing, painting and printmaking, we will explore the construction of imagery, working towards a more sculptural element with paper.

Shacks | Drypoint & Collagraph Plate | A. Grose, 2024

Many of the methods and process will come from a leftfield form of learning, where you will explore your creativity, and your modes of thinking, to problem solve the formation of images grounded in Self-Portraiture and your relationship with yourself and the world.

Voices | Zinc Etching on Fabriano | 1/1 | A. Grose, 2023

Through blind drawing, painting and printing; layering; erasure; processes including Mokulito, Mokuhanga, Woodcut; Plastic Sheet Printing, Dry-point and more, you will explore alternative methods of image construction, with the overall aim to form a sculptural piece using the techniques of papier-mache.
